Project Lazarus Wilkes

The Project Lazarus Wilkes Coalition was started in 2007 and developed what is now known as the Project Lazarus Model. Acting as the pilot program area for the Model, Wilkes was successful in dropping overdose mortality rates by 69% over a four year time span. The Project Lazarus Wilkes Coalition is still active and focused on improving access to appropriate pain management, treatment, reducing the stigma associated with addiction, providing naloxone to those in need, and increasing public awareness/building community education through regular meetings and workshops.
